2 pregnancies in 2 years

Having two babies in two years was certainly not the plan.
As every pregnancy is different, I knew that no one would be able to give me insight on their experience or advise on what to expect.

So – I understood that its one of those life experiences where I would have to figure it out as I went.

One thing for sure – The female body is truly amazing this is how I feel as much as I am tired all the time and exhaustion strikes at any hour, not giving my body a chance to heal was one of the regrets I had, not losing the weight and starting this process all over again so soon.

The birth of the first baby was in March, then we found out we were expecting in May the same year just two months later, this time around the baby bump was visible much sooner and with that the weight much more. This took a huge toll on my body as one is told to keep active, all I did was take naps and rest. I also limited my time outside, Online shopping is my best friend and so is asking for help from my partner that I was truly against as he is already such a great help with the first kid.

My body seemed ready like it was telling me “Oh we doing this again“ The symptoms were expected although it being the second time was not as severe the morning sickness was not as frequent but the weight gain was much more so were the stretch marks and the inability to walk or stand for long periods of time.

Based on the space in the womb from the first pregnancy the Dr informed me that there would be ample space for the baby to grow more compared to the previous pregnancy this putting more pressure on my body especially my hips and legs, the worst part was that there is no medication to help but resting when possible.

Guilt is one of the strongest feelings I’ve been experiencing throughout this pregnancy towards those around me and the “What if I weren’t pregnant” thoughts always come to mind. I feel guilt mostly towards my child and my partner also for him having to take on so much because I’m unable to do much. Being pregnant again so soon feels like its taking forever to get done, at times I feel like I just want it to be over not because I want the baby out but because I am physically drained from being pregnant for this long.

Getting things done when you do have a spark of energy is great and rewarding, having to manage a household and expecting can be a real challenge but with the help and support of my partner and family members the process has been tedious but is all worth it as we await the baby.
