Getting the lowDOWN on intimate care

How well are you taking care of your lady parts?

This topic is frowned upon in so many cultures & communities and even though it naturally makes many of us uncomfortable to speak openly about the V word,

as females with an active devotion to driving feminism, we must get into the habit of having uncomfortable conversations and not shy away from talking about matters that were previously seen to be taboo such as the VAGINA [Insert shy face here]

The fact is that your vagina is a phenomenal organ, and it is important to take good care of this vital part of your body.

Through our research we discovered that there are more bacteria that exists in in our mouths than in our vagina. Now this just sounds crazy but considering that our mouths are way more exposed to impurities, it makes sense.

Whilst your vagina has the amazing ability to clean itself, we understand that every vagina has a special scent – even at its healthiest. These distinct smells vary from person to person and is greatly affected by your diet and how hydrated you are. The material of your underwear and clothing also has an influence on the smell and general health of your special parts.

Cotton is a breathable material so it is ideal for underwear whilst material like satin retains moisture and should be avoided. Cotton underwear also helps with airflow, preventing irritation and friction. Make sure to wash your panties with mild detergents and always thoroughly rinse out all soapy residues.

Unpleasant smells might be experienced from the inner thighs & folds whilst believing that it could be from the vagina. Keep the entire area surrounding the vagina clean and dry.

Vaginal fluid or discharge is an essential element of a healthy vaginal area and as such it naturally produces a fair amount of discharge which helps to get rid of germs and bad bacteria from your body. Using the correct products on this area will promote your natural pH balance and protect the good bacteria which is needed to prevent harmful bacteria and growth of other organisms.

Trust your intuition. Do not ignore any signs or symptoms of that might indicate a vaginal infection.
